Discography Bio The Band Photos Press Music Contact

ShaliniShalini is a guitarist and bass player who is crazy about 60s, late 70s, 80s and early 90s rock/pop music. Her early influences include the Supremes and other Motown acts, Elvis, and the Beatles. As a teenager in the eighties, she gravitated toward punk and art-influenced bands like the Go-Go's, R.E.M., X, the Velvet Underground, the Clash, and the golden early stages of the Bangles, Game Theory, & Let's Active when they were all raw, scrappy and totally inspirational. More big-time perennial favorites include Cheap Trick, Blondie, and Pat Benatar.

Completed in the summer of 2007, the eleven-track The Surface and the Shine was released Oct. 9 on Electric Devil/125 Records. The four-piece live band played some '07 dates in Brooklyn, NY, St. Louis, MO, Normal, IL, Atlanta, GA, and Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Charlotte, and Wilmington, NC.
