Monday, December 25, 2006 The fifth day of X-Mess It's Christmas so I doubt anyone will be reading my blog today; still, I feel I must honor the commitment of writing something during each of the twelve days of X-Mess. Yesterday's task was one of the easier ones -- going through my closet and drawers. I had purchased a box of matching navy blue clothes hangers at the Container Store, so now all the garments in the closet are hanging on identical plastic hangers. That made it look neater immediately. Since we had one of those closet organizing systems installed a few years ago, the bedroom closet always looks pretty good, except, of course, for the horrible doors (I'm sure it will surprise absolutely no one that I was unable to pull the trigger on those $1,500 sliding doors). I don't buy a lot of clothes, and when I find something I like, I tend to wear it until it falls apart. Some stuff needs to go into the trash can instead of to charity. Lessons learned: Don't buy any more sleeveless tops.
