| X-mess interruptus |
Yesterday morning, I woke up with a sore throat and runny nose. I felt achy and miserable and spent most of the day either in bed, or lying on the couch watching "Law and Order" reruns and reading Entertainment Weekly. I don't feel much better today.
This is the first time I've been sick in over a year, and I blame all the cleaning I've been doing! I'm extremely allergic to dust, and I suspect that all the dust that's been uncovered by my excavations somehow compromised my immune system and allowed a virus to slip through. Of course, I'm no doctor, so I don't know if that's even possible, but it feels right in my gut, as Stephen Colbert might say. It's been so long since I've been sick that I assumed I had a bulletproof immune system.
Nevertheless, I shall persevere... at some point in the future. I'm about 75% of the way there; I even managed to get through some of the dreaded boxes in the bedroom.
Lessons learned: Wear your dust mask. |

I'd take it as a sign to quit cleaning. I quit keeping Christmas cards about the same time I quit sending them. Less mess and clutter for us all.
