| Reprise |
I kept hearing about this new Norwegian movie "Reprise" and thought it sounded awfully familiar, and then I remembered that I saw it over a year ago at the San Francisco International Film Festival. I'm glad it's gotten a theatrical release here, but I'm a little disappointed to see that director Joachim Trier doesn't have a new project underway yet (sounds like he's still hashing out ideas for his second film), because I think he has great potential. Ah well, these things take time.
For the first time in years & years, I skipped the entire festival this year. I think it was just because nothing in the program book really jumped out at me (I usually look for Scandinavian films, documentaries, and films about music/musicians) and I never made up my mind about what to see and finally I just felt overwhelmed and wound up not seeing anything. |
