| The terpsichorean threat, pt. 2 |
Read this post, substituting the name "Steve Wozniak" for "Cloris Leachman," and you'll get an idea of how I feel about "Dancing with the Stars" right now. The judges gave the Woz a score of 10 for his samba, the lowest score of the night and the lowest score any star has received since rapper Master P's 8 in Season 2, and yet enough people called in and voted for him to keep him on the show for another week. Now, I myself love Apple products and know people get downright evangelical about them, but just because you love your Mac or your iPhone is no reason to keep the company's co-founder in the competition! The man cannot dance!!
As a further slap in the face to people who appreciate quality dancing, Leachman and her "DwtS" partner Corky Ballas turned up in a video clip in this week's episode to demonstrate the two new dances they'll be rolling out next week. Because, y'know, there just wasn't enough terrible dancing on display last night. Actually, the video was kind of cute and surprisingly tolerable, probably due to editing.
I incorrectly predicted a Steve-Steve dance-off tonight (the other Steve in the competition is "Jackass" daredevil Steve-O); turns out it was a battle of the E! reality stars instead, "Complicated" Denise Richards vs. "Girl Next Door" Holly Madison. Denise got a higher score from the judges, but America must not love her 'cause she was sent packing, and the Playmate will dance another week. Next Tuesday there will be a double elimination, which might help get rid of some of the deadwood on the show. My "DwtS" predictions suck, but here are my guesses for the make-up of the final four: Gilles & Cheryl, Shawn & Mark, Melissa & Tony, and Kim & Derek. Gilles is this season's Cristian de la Fuente -- the ultra-hot foreign guy I had never heard of before he turned up on "DwtS" and am now rooting for. Plus, his partner is Joe's favorite, Cheryl Burke.
Tune in next Monday and vote for anyone other than Steve Wozniak. Please.
Update: I did set my alarm and get up very early on Sunday morning to do my "photograph the sunrise" assignment, but after a rainy night, the sky was dark gray turning into slightly lighter gray, and absolutely too bleak and dreary to take a picture of. So I went back to bed and slept for another couple hours, and when I woke up, the sun was shining. The sun came out and I totally missed it. Ah well. One of these mornings, I promise I will arise and watch the sun come up. |

I so agree with you. You have saved me from writing my blog about DWS. WOZ must go. Denise is gone and may Steve be next. This is almost as funto watch as Hell's Kitchen. Bad to the bone.

But the geeks have united around Woz. Never underestimate the power of the internets.
